Going Digital 2018 — KeynoteTalks Case Netherlands

The aim of the KeynoteTalks – Case Netherlands is to generate knowledge about new applications that address important issues concerning digital technology today: data ethics and sustainability.

The selected projects represent new technological know-how with two main goals – developing the potential of cross-border economic cooperation and expanding the knowledge.

Creative Research Tools in Urban Planning and Design & Wearable Technology Today  is a presentation of the projects from Netherlands funded by the European Union H2020 Programme through WEAR Sustain project and  Virtual Reality Design Methods Lab (VRDML) hosted by TU Delft; with Digital Gaming Mechanics For Urban Planning by Blok74, Rotterdam.

The event is supported by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Belgrade.

Salon of Architecture 2018

Ružica Bogdanović named Jury Member at Salon of Architecture

STRAND Association is proud to announce that our very own founder Ružica Bogdanović was nominated as a Jury member at the popular annual architectural competition Salon of Architecture.

The 40th Salon of Architecture will be held from 29 March to 5 May 2018 at Museum of Applied Art, Vuka Karadžića 18, Belgrade, Serbia.

The Jury of 40th Salon of Architecture consisting of prominent professionals Ružica Bogdanović, Branko Belaćević, Predrag Milutinović, Veljko Radulović and Snežana Ristić will evaluate and award the Grand Prix Award, first Prizes and Recognition by categories.

For this year’s 40th Salon 180 works were submitted in all categories. The jury included 106 works in athe official selection, out of which 75 competitions in 6 categories are classified in the competition for awards (competition and student works are excluded from the category for awards).

ABOUT

As part of OA2017 an Autodesk Maya workshop was held by visual artist and architect Nora Lefa.

The main aspiration of this workshop is each participant to develop a critical argument based on individual research that will transcribe imagination into a new geometry – an Architectural project.


AGENDA

Course Techniques
The workshop will incorporate Autodesk Maya modeling tools, animation as an engine for generating higher complex geometry, as well as visual representation.

Workshop Structure
Tutorials + Lectures + Production and Techniques (Autodesk Maya)

Day 1
Introduction + Presentation + Software preparation (10:30am) -Digital Lecture by Nora Lefa   -Room installation, Software Installation/preparation, Logistics, Schedules, -Software Introduction: OVERALL Interface, POLYGONS

Day 2
Introduction Modeling Techniques: POLYGONS Techniques: Surfaces, Materials, special effects, DEFORMERS, nDynamics etc.

Day 3
Introduction Modeling Techniques: POLYGONS Techniques: Surfaces, Materials, special effects, DEFORMERS, animations Bland shape  etc. FINAL OVERALL PRESENTATION Review – EXHIBITION

Software & Skills requirements
Participants should bring their own laptop and to install Maya software, preferably prior to the commencement of the Workshop.


TUTOR

Nora Lefa Visual Artist and Architect. Masters Degree (MA), Arts et Technologie de l’Image Virtuelle (Université Paris 8 and Athens School of Fine Arts). Masters Degree (MSc), National Technical University of Athens. Degree in Architecture (University of Patras, Greece). PhD candidate, University of Sarajevo. She has worked for and with many renowned architects in Greece (most notably Manos Perrakis). She is currently running her own office of architecture, working on various visual art projects and doing research in new media and their perception by the public. She currently does research on new architectural forms. Her artistic and research projects have been presented in venues in Athens, Mykonos, London, Paris, Belgrade and Sarajevo; she has presented papers in several conferences and exhibitions.


REGISTRATION

The Organizer offers the following conditions for participation where each fee is valid per one person.

EARLY Registration (paid until 15 October 2017)
For EDUCATIONAL participation 30 EUR (doctoral students and early career researcher required proof of study and/or age), for PROFESSIONAL participation 50 EUR,

REGULAR Registration (paid until 15 November 2017)
For EDUCATIONAL participation 50 EUR (doctoral students and early career researcher required proof of study and/or age), for PROFESSIONAL participation 80 EUR.

Workshop Registration includes:
– unlimited and free access on all workshop 3 full days
– coffee breaks on all workshop days
– workshop Participation Certificate

The workshop has 14 places available and will be activated with a minimum number of 6 participants.
